The Chesapeake Bay Retriever is a medium-sized, robustly built, rustic-looking and cheerful-natured dog. Its ears are of medium size, with a strong jaw and a wide and deep muzzle. Its legs are strong and robust, with a thick and wide tail. It is a very intelligent and easy to train, very loyal and affectionate with its family. The Chesapeake Bay Retriever has great endurance and is an excellent swimmer, is an excellent companion for hunting and is also a great guard dog.
