The Barbet is an intelligent, loyal and affectionate breed of dog. It has a great protective instinct and a natural impulse for vigilance. It is sensitive, friendly and at the same time very reserved with strangers. Its coat is very particular, it has an external soft, dense and water-resistant layer, in addition to a finer and silkier inner layer.12 - 14
