The Alaskan Malamute is a large, strong, and beautiful dog with a thick and plentiful coat. They are extremely loyal to their owners and have a great deal of energy, so they require a considerable amount of exercise. These dogs often have a great sense of humor and are often very good with children. Alaskan Malamutes have a dual purpose which makes them excellent companions and workers: they are endurance sled dogs that were bred to pull heavy loads and sleds over long distances in difficult weather conditions.10 - 14
